Hi everyone! I cannot believe that we’re in October already, how quickly is this year flying by? With the change in seasons and the darkening evenings I thought it would be the best time to do an anxiety gifts list. Anxiety can occur from anything and for anyone. So here’s out Top 15 Anxiety Gifts you can buy anyone who suffers from anxiety occasionally…

1
Worry Eater Teddy£13.49

What It Is:
A small teddy with a zipper mouth which allows you to put your written worry in it to "eat" it.

I love that worry teddy’s are a thing! Who knew? When I first came across one of these little guys, I just couldn’t believe how cute they were.  For someone struggling with anxiety this is one of the sweetest anxiety gifts you could get.

You tell them all your worries, write them on a piece of paper and then put that paper in the teddy’s mouth and it “eats” it. It’s quite a cathartic exercise to try.

The Wellbeing Journal£6.88

What It Is:
This journal is filled with little quotes, as well as activities like colouring in to help you work through tough times.

So whilst looking for different anxiety gifts and anxiety gift ideas, I came across this journal.  I’ve heard of books like this before, and don’t think I’ve taken a proper look at them. They sound pretty great, especially because it’s a way to start a bit of a routine.  I find that when I’m anxious, routine really helps me, it gives me a sort of purpose. So this book with gentle activities in it, is a great idea to ground you.

I’d recommend getting this with maybe some nice colouring pencils, both of them would make nice anxiety gifts.

3
Bath Salt Stress Relief£7.95

What It Is:
You can add bath salts to your bath water to help release tension in your muscles.

Who doesn’t love a good bath?! You’ll probably notice that in most of my blog posts the majority of gifts and gift ideas are from me having bought them, or someone buying me that gift.  In this particular case, this is something I would never have bought for myself. But one year my husband bought me some bath salts and whilst I didn’t think they would make a difference, oh man was I wrong!

hey really do help stop aches and pains. These aren’t the specific ones he got me, but I’ve tried some different ones now and they are great.  Bath salts make great anxiety gifts, they are so stress relieving. When you’re stressed and anxious, your body tenses up and it can make your muscles ache. This will really ease the tension and help you relax.

Himalayan Salt Lamp£16.99

What It Is:
This is a simple lamp made from natural pink Himalayan salt.  The salt is said to have properties to relieve anxiety.

I’ve never really been into Himalayan Salt Lamps, but recently, especially in the darkening evenings they’ve grown on me.  When it comes to buying lamps, I’m quite picky. Especially on the brightness of a lamp, I don’t like harsh light, I like a soft glow to make my space feel cosy. In all honesty, any warm glowing lamp would probably do the trick.  But I especially like these now, as they look so natural and calming.  It definitely makes a difference, and makes for an inviting space.

What It Is:
An anxiety it with 52 weekly mindfulness tasks aimed to tackle anxiety.

This is a great challenge to take part in! If you know someone who suffers from anxiety or stress this would be one of the best anxiety gifts out there. It’s filled with 52 weekly mindful tasks.  With fantastic reviews all around, this is probably one of the best anxiety gifts to help and inspire you with everyday mindfulness. I think I know exactly who I’d buy this for come Christmas as well.

It’s a very thoughtful idea, and hopefully not too daunting either. Remember what I said about routine? This can help create a nice routine and a weekly “to do” for your anxious or stressed loved one.

7
Stress Relief Magnetic Pen£6.99

What It Is:
A magnetic pen which helps you to keep focused when feeling anxious.

So this is a little bit different! Whilst it’s not specifically for anxiety, I can see how it would help much in the same way the fidget spinner helps. It’s a great little tool to keep your hands busy when under pressure.  There do appear to be some minor issues, like the biro itself doesn’t retract. However, I do fidget with pens all the time (usually I end up flinging them into the air and then they fall on the floor…)

I wanted to put this in our anxiety gifts list because it can be a good distraction, something to keep you grounded when you’re feeling stressed.  Also it seems like quite a nice pen 🙂

Ok, so now we’re onto the serious stuff! You can use it when it suits you without having to plug it in, or put batteries in it, or any other hassle.

Anxiety Blanket£99

What It Is:
A weighted blanket to make you feel safe.

Blankets are fantastic anxiety gifts, and there are so many different kinds of blankets out there. You might have heard of an actual anxiety blanket.  These are fantastic but they tend to be fairly expensive.  Additionally, you have to get them a specific weight. They have to be roughly 10% of your body weight, so you need to research before you buy for your loved one. Especially if you want the blanket to work properly.

Zen Garden Set£10.99

What It Is:
A small interactive sand and water feature set.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I have no space, I would love something like this in the house.  Even just looking at it calms me down. This, paired with the Himalayan Salt Lamp would be gorgeous anxiety gifts or stress relief gifts.  You can find all sorts of tabletop zen gardens, so if you’re not a big fan of this one, I would definitely have a search for other “zen gardens”.

There’s a fairly big range of them, some even include a little water feature which can be really calming!

12
Candles£15.99

What It Is:
Scented aromatherapy candles for a calming atmosphere.

Candles are really underrated when it comes to stress relief, they really do help.  There’s something so nice about having a nice smelling candle in the room to help you relax.  Whilst I’ve always liked candles, it was my mother in law who got me into them more. She brings us candles and they make the house smell SO good.  When I’m working and I can just smell them, it helps me focus a bit.

I used to like burning incense, but that was almost a bit too strong for me and they’d constantly make me sneeze.  Whereas candles are much more gentle on the nose. Not to mention just like the Himalayan salt lamp, it creates a nice atmosphere. They just make things seem so warm and cosy.

One-Off Buddy Box£21.50

One-Off Buddy Box Graphic Image Credit: Blurt Foundation

What It Is:
A self care box with items like hand cream, face masks and other small bits.

The Buddy Box was started by the Blurt Foundation who are dedicated to helping those with depression.  These guys are fantastic, insightful and helpful. I came across them about 6 months ago, and I just love what they do. One of the things that they do is a monthly subscription box designed to encourage self care.

When we’re feeling anxious, it’s easy to get lost in your own head and to not look after yourself.  So these Buddy Boxes are great, they contain different items every month to inspire you to take care of you.  I really think these would make such special anxiety gifts for someone you know. And it doesn’t have to be 3 months, or 6 months, you can buy a one-off box for a friend or loved one.

Tibetan Singing Bowl£28

What It Is:
A bowl that creates a range of sounds to create a calming atmosphere.

If you’re not sure what a Tibetan singing bowl is, quite simply it’s a metal bowl that comes with a wooden “striker”.  The striker is a small piece of wood with a bit of material attached to the end. You take the striker and slowly stir the bowl with it, this will make a smooth sound from the bowl.  It’s a soothing sound and can be used for meditation to create a positive atmosphere.

Oil Diffuser£20.99

What It Is:
A machine that diffuses essential oils into the room to creating a relaxing environment.

Oil diffusers are great ways to keep calm when you’re feeling anxious.  They’re soothing and can make a space feel safe. This machine is great because it emits a nice low light, as well as diffusing essential oils into the atmosphere. You can set the amount of hours you want it on for.  This makes it different from an oil burner. You can choose which oils to use, I’d usually recommend Lavender which is a very calming scent if you’re not sure what to get.

Honourable Mentions

The following anxiety gifts didn't make it into our Top 15 picks, but we think they're still worth a mention...

Bath Spa Kit£15.99

What It Is:
A simple bath set.

If you now that bath salts aren’t their thing, then what about a bath spa kit instead? Still just as relaxing, with a bit more oomph to it. I love bath sets because they’re great for any occasion, I personally love them because they’re stress relieving. In particular this set is great because the products are vegan! And they’re lavender scented which is calming in itself.

Bath sets make great anxiety gifts, and this one in particular is a nice touch because it provides you with all sorts of little items. Beautifully packaged, it contains bath foam, bath bomb and soap 🙂

Fidget Cube£6.85

What It Is:
A cube with different buttons, textures and handles to fidget with.

Ok so I actually bought one of these for my husband one year, and funnily enough his mum bought him one too! Great minds think alike, eh? These are great little gadgets especially if you tend to fidget a lot when you’re anxious.  It gives your hands something to do. My husband loves to fidget, so this was perfect for him. I love it because I love buttons 😀

These would make great little anxiety gifts and or stress relief gifts.  It’s six sides like any cube, and on each side it has different fidget bits.  Like a small joystick controller, there’s a side with a sort of light switch etc…

I think this can be quite subjective, some people may like this, whilst others may not.  It’s simply an idea, you can find some other “fidget” toys on Amazon. Currently, this is the most iconic one, so you can get an idea of what it’s like.  It’s also not too pricey which is great for a filler present 🙂
