1
Journal of Impossible Things£40.99

Journal of Impossible Things Graphic Image Credit: Amazon

If your loved one was a fan of David Tennant as the Doctor, then this is one of the coolest Doctor Who gifts you could get them.  In the episode “The Family Of Blood” the 10th Doctor used the Chameleon Arch to turn into the human, John Smith who had a dream journal.

The Journal Of Impossible Things is a replica of the journal that was used in that episode.  Filled with all sorts of ramblings and concept art. It even comes with a sonic screwdriver!

Gallifreyan Pocket Watch £14.99

First up is this lovely pocket watch (great for both men and women).  I’ve always liked pocket watches as it is, and this looks like such a lovely design.  On top of that, it’s from a great tv show! What’s not to like if you’re a fan of Doctor Who?

For those of you who haven’t watched the show, this type of pocket or fob watch is featured in a couple of episodes. It holds all of a time lords memories allowing them to forget who they are and effectively hide in plain sight. The Doctor uses it to hide from the Family of Blood in a great two-parter in series 3 of new-who.

This gift idea is designed exactly like the one featured in the series. Sadly though, this is just a watch, you can’t keep your memories hidden in it!

Doctor Who Cookbook£7.94

I can’t believe that there’s an official Doctor Who cookbook!  Part of me is wondering if there’s a recipe for fish fingers and custard in here, or if there are actual “normal” recipes in here too.  I hope there’s a bit of both 😀 This is one of those Doctor Who gift ideas where even just the novelty of having it is enough. You don’t necessarily have to buy this for someone who loves cooking, but it’s a great gift idea if they did!

The review for this make it seem like a lot of fun, and hey, why wouldn’t it be?  For me personally, I really like cooking as it is. I’d be tempted to try my hand at a few of the recipes in here.  If I can’t veganise them (which I’m sure I can), then at least I can make them for my husband! When it gets closer to the time, I think a Doctor Who party will be in order!

Sonic Screwdriver Bottle Opener£16.99

You’ll probably find a lot of sonic screwdriver and tardis themed Doctor Who gift ideas in this blog.  They seem to be really quite popular items amongst whovians! When picking what to get, you’ve got to make sure it’s the right kind.  That’s why we’ve listed quite a selection of them for you. You could get a simple replica, or you could spice it up a bit, like with this sonic screwdriver bottle opener!

Now that’s not as far fetched as you think, considering the 12th doctor had sonic sunglasses!  Unfortunately we don’t have sonic sunglasses listed here I’m sorry to say. But this is just as good.

Doctor Who Cluedo £22.67

As you may know from reading our other blog posts, we’re huge fans of board games.  Cluedo included! We already have the Sherlock Cluedo set, we may need to invest in this Doctor Who one too.  You can never have too many board games in the house, at least we don’t think so! 😀

If you’re not too familiar with this game, it’s a family affair.  Where did it occur, who did it and with what object. You have to correctly decipher these points using your detective skills to win!  It’s great fun.

Funko Pop Vinyl FiguresPrices start from £14.91

I really like Vinyl Pop figures but I always seem to forget about them when it rolls around to gift giving.  Then once I’ve stumbled across them, it seems like the perfect choice that I wonder why I didn’t think of it sooner!  Personally I like to keep them as my office desk ornaments to keep me company. They make great little display pieces though.

These would make great Doctor Who gift ideas for someone! Check out our selection here:

Tardis Mug With Lid £15.33

Yes, this is a Tardis mug! I’m almost certain it’s bigger on the inside. It comes with a lid which makes this perfect for a nice cup of tea to keep warm.  Just picture it, the person you’ve gifted this too sat watching Doctor Who, drinking a lovely tea from their Tardis Mug. Sweet right?

We can do sweet Doctor Who gift ideas! 😀  And better yet, you could also pair this with the Tardis Teapot we mentioned earlier.  As a Doctor Who fan, you can never have too many tardis related items in your life.

Shot Glasses£7.99

And what better to go with a Doctor Who party?  Yep, that’s right, shots! And you can provide the shot glasses 😉  They’re pretty cute, and would make a fabulous addition to any Whovians life (unless they’re children, don’t buy these for them!)

Some episodes will require a shot or two, like the really touching ones where all you want to do is cry after watching them.  Probably best to have these handy during the last episodes of the season. I’m a cry baby anyway, so maybe don’t listen to me!

Honourable Mentions

The following Doctor Who gifts didn't make it into our Top 15 picks, but we think they're still worth a mention...

Pocket Tennant Shirt£14.14

Pocket Tennant Shirt Graphic Image Credit: RedBubble

Now this wonderful shirt isn’t exactly Doctor Who related, but I needed an excuse to put it on the list.  Anyone who’s a fan of the 10th Doctor (yes David Tennant) would love this shirt. And if it’s a girl you’re giving this too, she’ll be IN love with this shirt.  Just look at his happy little face! You can’t not get this shirt for a David Tennant lover. In some ways, if you’ve seen this and don’t get it for them well, that’d be mean.

Going back to Doctor Who though, for a lot of people David Tennant is their favourite Doctor.  But I have to be honest, mine is Peter Capaldi. Maybe it’s the accent, is that just me? Or maybe I haven’t watched enough David Tennant episodes.

GB PostersPrices start from ££16.99

I was in Forbidden Planet the first time I came across a GB Poster.  The thing I like about them is that they look really stylish. They come in a thick black frame and are about A4 size.  One Christmas, I bought several for my husband where they now hang in his office. They’re some of the best things I’ve gifted to him.

As such, I wanted to include a couple of those posters here.  GB posters are really good for tv shows, and they make nice Doctor Who gift ideas here.  Check out the selection below:

Doctor Who Clock£19.99

Doctor Who Clock Graphic Image Credit: RedBubble

This is another one of those subtle Doctor Who gift ideas, and one that I really like.  Even if I wasn’t a fan of Doctor Who, I’d be partial to having this in the living room. Encompassed in a silhouette of the Tardis, it reads, “We’re all stories in the end, just make it a good one”.

It’s really sweet, and doubles up as an art piece (in my opinion anyway!)

Doctor Who Tote Bag£10.61

Doctor Who Tote Bag Graphic Image Credit: RedBubble

With wanting to help the environment and cutting down on plastic use, tote bags are becoming more and more popular.  Ditching plastic bags means that you can have your own favourite set of tote bags. All perfect for carrying your shopping in!  I have about 6 already, prior to that I had these awfully plain ones which aren’t really my style 😉

This particular design, much like the clock is really sweet.  It’s just subtle enough to show your love for Doctor Who!

Sonic ScrewdriversPrices start from £17.95

Whilst I was writing ideas for this particular entry, my husband kept popping up and suggesting sonic screwdrivers.  I didn’t really think anything of it, since all I could think of were some of the toy ones you get. But after a while I started thinking about it and researching.  I managed to find a couple of collectors item sonic screwdrivers which would make great Doctor Who gift ideas.

They’re a little bit pricey, but they’d be worth it for a true fan of the show! Check them out:

Doctor Who Poster Set Prices from £17.61

Doctor Who Poster Set Graphic Image Credit: PosterInvasion Via Etsy

I really wish there was more space on our walls for these posters.  They are such a nice design, they’re uniform, and best of all they show a few of the greatest baddies in Doctor Who! 😀  The only downside to this is they’re quite costly to ship to the UK. If I were going to buy posters though, I’d rather support an independent seller like those on Etsy.  Most of all though, these are unique. Few people would have these which would make these a great show piece in your home.

Doctor Who Wall Art£9.34

Doctor Who Wall Art Graphic Image Credit: GoGoBookart Via Etsy

For a slightly more cost effective wall art gift, this one is very nice.  The design is superb, it has a sort of shabby chic feel to it which I really like.  It’s a whimsical little piece, perfect for maybe a wedding, or anniversary gift for our loved one that is a fan of Doctor Who.

Out of all the Doctor Who gift ideas on this list, this has to be one of my favorites.  Simply because of its handmade feel, it’s a thoughtful idea.

Where's The Doctor£4.79

So this is a lot of fun! Quite simply it’s a Doctor Who version of Where’s Wally? It’s Where’s The Doctor? As far as Doctor Who gifts go, this one is pretty funny and would make a nice little stocking filler for your loved one.

Tardis Teapot£21.19

Speaking of a Tardis Teapot, you can check it out right here!  I wonder if it’s bigger on the inside? From the reviews, it should be able to pour out at least 4 cups of tea.  Perfect with the 4 cup set *wink wink nudge nudge*

I’m actually going to steal this tea, mug and teapot idea.  I’ve quite literally convinced myself to buy a teapot and mug set for my husband come his Birthday. I’m sure I’ve said that in most of our gift ideas posts now, I’m gonna have to narrow this down a bit.  All we need now is tardis shaped biscuits 😉

But back to the teapot!  It’s such a lovely item, it looks well crafted and it would make a really special gift for a big Doctor Who fan.

Mug Set£16.95

I’m not usually a big fan of movie/tv show mug sets (mostly because I’m afraid of breaking one and never getting the matching one ever again…) But for these I’ll make an exception!  The design isn’t too in your face, and I really like the colour contrast. So even if I did break one, it should be easy enough to get another. Even if I wasn’t able to though, it would still make a great set.  These mugs make a statement. They tell people that you’re a Doctor Who fan without being overly obvious.

If the Doctor Who fan you’re buying for is also a fan of tea, why not pair these mugs with the Tardis teapot.  Maybe chuck in a few teabags, et voila. A couple of fun Doctor Who gift ideas for you 😀

Hip Flask£15

Hip Flask Graphic Image Credit: MillieBelleBoutique Via Etsy

This is great for any Whovian that loves their whiskey!  Don’t you just love that this is styled as though it’s from an actual distillery?  I think this would get a few chuckles as well as a few, “I need that” remarks. It looks well designed, and it’s not too pricey either.

It’s had a lot of good reviews, and you could also pair this with an actual bottle of whiskey to make this the perfect gift idea for a Doctor Who fan.

Tardis Alarm Clock£18.99

This looks really simple at first, until you realise that this is a digital projection alarm clock!  It looks exactly like the tardis. My only question about this item however, when you set the alarm, does it sound like the tardis taking off?  I’m really curious but no one seems to mention this in the reviews.

I’ll have to investigate this further and see if I can report back!  Even if it doesn’t though, this would still make one of the more helpful Doctor Who gift ideas!  If you know anyone who’s phone is constantly going off with notifications, they can use the alarm on this instead to wake them up.  That way they can turn off their mobile (unless they’re oncall or something…)

Sonic Screwdriver Torch£10.85

And for those of us who can’t yet afford the magnificent sonic screwdriver remote, we can stick with this torch instead.  It’s just as useful and cool right? I think it is. Imagine pulling this out of your tool box and your friend asking what it is, and you going all “Doctor Who” on them.  Just don’t shine it in their eyes because that’s just not cool.

Sadly there aren’t any sound effects for this, but you can always make your own!

TARDIS playset£34.99

This makes for a nice little collectors item for a huge Doctor Who fan.  The play set features a motorised time console with lights AND noises. It would make a great little display piece once fully assembled.  You will need to purchase batteries with this to make sure you can see it fully lit up in all its glory!
